Basic Handgun Course Outline: 1. The fundamental knowledge and skills for safe firearm handling, maintenance and storage. 2. This class is for those who wish to learn to shoot or improve their basic skills. This is an excellent class for older children to attend with their parents. 3. We work with each student individually to insure they get the maximum knowledge from the course. 4. This course is divided into two, 2-hour classes and taught on consecutive Sunday nights from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be approximately two hours of supervised shooting time during the course. Tuition: $150.00
Intermediate Handgun Class Prerequisite Complete a basic handgun class. Why take this class? So you can respond with out thinking to the most common self-defense situations and problems that occur at home. This class allows the opportunity to understand, develop and practice the necessary skills. For example: 1. How to move through your house tactically. 2. How to engage multiple target; know your back stops before you shoot. 3. What if you are being pursued as you run to get your gun out of a dresser drawer. 4. What if your gun jams? What if you have to reload quickly? What if you are injured? Who should take this class? All gun owners who believe that a gun at home is a valuable tool to have when a life-threatening situation arises, or when there is no reasonable expectation of law enforcement for an extended period of time (living in rural parts). These situations could be when your are in the wilderness, walking down the street, in a parking lot or even when you are in your are in your home and the neighborhood is devastated by an act of Mother Nature: earthquake, flood, fire, tornado, or hurricane. Tuition: $200.00
Shotgun Class Prerequisite Have a Shotgun and 30 rounds Why take this class? So you can respond without thinking to the most common self-defense situations and problems that occur at home. This class allows you the opportunity to understand, develop and practice the necessary skills. For example: 1. How to move through your house tactically. 2. How to engage multiple targets; know your backstops. 3. What if you are being pursued as you run to get your shotgun out of a closet? 4. What if your shotgun jams? What if you have to reload quickly? What if you are injured? Who should take this class? All shotgun owners who believe that a shotgun at home is a valuable tool to have when a life threatening situation arises, or when there is no reasonable expectation of law enforcement for an extended period of time (living in rural areas). Tuition: $200.00 American Classic Marksman’s Manager of Course Instruction is Tom Coyne. Tom is a certified NRA Instructor for Handgun, Rifle, Shotgun and Home Firearm Safety with over 20 years of teaching experience. He is also an NRA Range Safety Officer. He has organized and taught seminars across the county. His background in teaching includes technical service school instructor, organizer and presenter of corporate seminars, sailing and navigation instructor, and retail training.
